Misbah ul Haq is a powerhouse in the world of cricket. He is currently the head coach and chief selector of the Pakistan national team. This is the first time someone has simultaneously held both positions in Pakistan cricket. Before this, he has had a lustrous 17-year international cricket career and has also served as Pakistan’s team coach, in both ODIs and test cricket.
Misbah ul Haq holds an MBA degree in Human Resource Management. He has been honored with the Pride of Performance in 2014 and Sitara-i-Imtiaz in 2018, which is the highest civilian award in Pakistan. He has also been awarded with PCB’s Imtiaz Ahmed Spirit of Cricket Award and Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. In 2016, he was also awarded the ICC Spirit of Cricket.
He debuted in international cricket in 2001 and has had a long list of achievements since then. In test cricket, Misbah has captained 56, with 26 wins and 11 draws. Making him the most successful test captain of Pakistan. He is also the first batsman to make a test hundred after the age of 41 since 1981. Misbah was the ODI captain from 2008–2015 and has had the 10th highest success rate. He was the leading run scorer in ODIs in 2013 and scored the record of most runs in ODI cricket without a career hundred. In 2013, he had 15 ODI half centuries- a record for most ODI half centuries in a year. He was ranked number 7 in the ICC rankings for ODI batsmen. He has captained eight T20 matches, with 6 wins. Misbah retired in 2017 and was awarded with Wisden Cricketers of the Year.

He did his MBBS in 1970 from Rajshahi Medical College, Rajshahi and commissioned in Army Medical Corps in 1971. His postgraduate qualifications are MCPS, FCPS (Pak), FCPS (BD) and FPAMS. He did on job training in cardiac surgery from St. Thomas Hospital London and worked as General Surgeon till 1978 and from 1978 onwards as cardiac surgeon.
He commanded Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology and National Institute of Heart Disease from 2001 to 2004. Ammara Awais is the Director, Office of Student Affairs at the University of Lahore. She is responsible, inter alia, for foreign student in the context of their enrollment, studies and allied functions.
Ammara sits on the Board of Governors of the University of Lahore as well as Board of Trustees of the Ibadat Educational Trust which is the mother body owning a teaching hospital and a school system among other institutions.
She studied business and holds a Master of Science in International Business studies form London University.
Ammara has travelled extensively due to diplomatic duties of her father internationally in mostly conflict related regions as Bosnia Herzegovina, Srilanka, among others. This inculcated an international outlook and an enlightened world view which fits well with her present function as head of student affairs of the university.

Ammara is the National Coordinator of Dukhtaran-e-Pakistan which is the government project on Women Empowerment. She is also the patron for the Diet and Nutrition Youth Body as well as the Blood Donation Society. Corporate social responsibility is one of the strengths of the university. Ammara is leading the education and health program of the university for the adjoining rural communities and villages entitled Prosperity Circle.
